We’re all familiar with the infamous corona-virus disease, COVID-19, that originated in China and continues to rapidly spread worldwide. In response to the current events following COVID-19 outbreak, NilePreneurs has decided to take a part in presenting solutions where challenges are found. Accordingly, we have created five focus groups with a core mission to build digital and industrial products that serves our current community. NilePreneurs team proposed a brand new design as an innovative solution to manufacture protective face shields for the healthcare workers in Egypt using their digital facilities and machinery including laser cutting machine (non-metal).
The manufacturing of face shields could help a lot as the masks offer an extra layer of protection for healthcare workers, making it an essential piece of equipment that aids front line healthcare workers who get in direct contact with COVID-19 patients.
Knowing the importance of this tool, NilePreneurs team members gathered information about the designs, the materials to be used, and the possible manufacturing techniques to get the best viable outcome.
These shields will be distributed in the healthcare system as a donation from Nile University/Nilepreneurs initiative which is developed under the “Microfactory” project.
